HONORING ARTISTS
Chaquira charms are made with hand-carved wooden figurines, where the beads are glued one by one with an adhesive. This technique is very time-consuming but allows for beautifully intricate designs.
Maurilio works with artisans in the states of Jalisco, Zacatecas, and Durango to create Chaquira charms for Consuela. These partnerships provide financial support for artisans while keeping this technique and cultural significance alive.
